Counseling is defined by the American Counseling Association as "the provision of assistance and guidance in resolving personal, social, or psychological problems and difficulties, especially by a professional." As a counselor, my role is to provide a safe environment for you to share, discuss and explore your thoughts and feelings to move towards success. The counseling environment and tone is set by the individual so that the greatest potential for growth is available.
Our moods, choices and actions are influenced by our thoughts, the foods we eat and the activities we engage in. Therefore, my focus is on assisting individuals identify how their emotional concerns are connected to their total wellness. Through the use of Clinical Counseling and Health Coaching techniques, I can help you address personal, social, relationship, and physical wellness.
Using client-centered strategies and cognitive-behavioral interventions, clients must be active in their counseling and know there is no easy fix. I can support you as you refocus on life's goals and identify your strengths and skills.
To match the technological world we live in, all sessions have moved to web-based counseling using a confidential internet provider service. I acknowledge that web-based counseling is not for everyone so consider some of it's benefits and limitations. During the initial consultation you will be more fully informed of these factors and asked to sign your acknowledgment.
